It’s the last day of 2014, and what a year this has been. 2014 was the year I fell in love with where I live. It’s the year I realized I love my job. We’re close to family, and we have opportunity and the freedom to travel. In all the ways that matter, I’m so content in the life I’m living now, and for that, I’m ridiculously grateful.
We kicked off the year in the middle of a pretty brutal winter with a bunch of adventures! We built a snow sculpture with friends and spent plenty of time exploring northern Michigan via snowshoes.
In April, we had a blast at a block party, and said farewell to dear friends.
And then summer (glorious summer!). My baby sister graduated from high school. I completed a triathlon, which had been a goal of mine for a few years. We attended several weddings, went to a Tigers game, went backpacking twice (North Manitou and Isle Royale), and did a few day hikes. It was, all in all, a kick butt summer.
This fall, Mom and the baby sisters and I went to Paradise, MI, to run a race. It was a fun weekend to spend together!
And then the holidays! Thanksgiving, Christmas, parties, recitals, concerts. Busy season, but lovely, nonetheless. (Egg nog!)
