(Cheater) Chicken Cordon Bleu

Chicken Cordon Bleu is an American dish. Don’t let the French name, meaning ‘blue ribbon,’ fool you.  This dish has had me scared for awhile. I feared it was challenging and technical and too complicated. It was anything but! This is comfort food, folks. I can’t wait to try it this winter.

To be legit, you should use prosciutto and Gruyere cheese, and roll up the chicken breast into a spiral. This recipe (as aforementioned, the cheater version) uses deli ham and Swiss cheese. And there is no spiraling. All you have to do is layer. Think lasagna-minus the noodles that scald your fingers.
