Gevulde Speculaas

Another dutch treat! Oh boy, yummy. I love recreating these recipes and treats I’ve had since I was a kid.

Like gevulde koek, this recipe for bars contains copious amounts of almond paste. And is generally made around Christmas time. That said, it’s definitely appropriate to eat year round. More than appropriate, it’s encouraged.

Basically, this recipe combines a a spice dough with a layer of almond paste in the middle. Not too complicated, and super delicious. Here’s a recipe from The Dutch Table.
