Explosions in the sky

It was a great 4th of July! After running the 5K, I spent the day in the office. After 5 o’clock freedom, we went and ate dinner. Then…what would a MasterWorks fourth of July be without a symphony concert? You’re right. It’d be nothing, absolutely nothing. We were treated to a wonderful orchestra concert of patriotic and pop favorites. We crashed on the grass in the park and chatted and relaxed.

For a second the sun was blinding. That was annoying. Not that I’m complaining about the sun….don’t believe that for a second! I love the sun. Passionately.

Patriotic yumminess. How adorable are they? I didn’t make them; one of the wives of one of the faculty did. She kindly shared with us πŸ™‚ Dark chocolate, strawberries, blueberries (!!)

I’m definitely remembering this for next year. Or next week.

After the concert, we made our way to the end of the island to watch the fireworks. I love fireworks. There’s something about the combination of flashing lights and big explosive sounds that makes my soul sing.

Happy birthday, America!
