I did move out of Mississippi…right?

It’s been so hot here the last couple of days! Because I came home from AT trip a couple of days early, I had a free day to schelp around Indiana before I started work again today.

So, yesterday, I woke up, started the backpacking clean-up process, folded laundry, etc. Then I headed down the hill to the bakery for a scone and a coffee (typical) and some internet catch up time on the porch. The morning reminded me why I like this town.

What to do with the rest of my random, sunny, day off? The beach of course! Don’t have to tell me twice. Honestly, it’s almost 90. It’d be a crime to spend that kind of day indoors. So, I went to check out the Indiana dunes on the coast of Lake Michigan.

I spent my day like this:

Reading this (in honor of Erica, who leaves for Kazakhstan in a couple of months):

It’s a good book! Highly recommended. Check out her blog. I’m going to miss her bunches while she’s gone, but I’m so proud of her! She’s going to be amazing!

I digress…I ate food from this:

Gatorade, crackers, cheese, grapes, carrots. Nom nom! I love beach food.

After the beach, I headed to Merrillville to meet Cara for dinner at an Irish pub. Once again, yum! Great food, great company, great conversation. All in all, an wonderful way to end a wonderful week off!

  1. Hey, I found your blog. Well, really, it wasn’t that hard, since you’d posted a link on your facebook yesterday. But anyway, I found it and I love it. It sounds just like you. So, guess what??? I’m joining you on the One Hundred Push Ups dealio. Did my first set last night. Yay! I have to do the girly kind and I used their suggestion to make a fist to remove the pressure from my wrists, because otherwise they pop every time. That can’t be good.

  2. Yay for push ups! I’ll probably have to start over being that it’s been a couple weeks since I’ve done any. This time I’ll stick with it. I will! Glad you like the blog 🙂
